Summer courses 2010 in Madrid
European Union and International Law
Duration: From May 31 to June 25, 2010
Classes:
- European Union and European Law (40 hours)
Objective:
To explore in depth the process of European integration, its institutional systems and its judicial structures. With the final aim of providing the student with knowledge necessary for analysis, critical and constructive, of the main goals of the Union: to implement European citizenship; to guarantee freedom, security and justice; to foment economic and social progress; and to affirm the role of Europe in the world.
- International Public Law (40 hours)
Objective:
- To undertake the study of international judicial structure as a complete system, and, in particular, its "sources"
- To broaden knowledge of the fundamental institutions of this judicial order
- Special reference to international organisations.
Upon completion of the course, the University will award a diploma to the students.
Number of class hours: 80
- Technical visits to the European institutions mentioned above.
- Cultural visits to the Prado Museum and City Tour of Madrid.
Courses are taught in Spanish
Applications
It is necessary to send the following documents:
- Application form
- A letter of recommendation from one of the professors at the home university.
- A document which certifies the level of Spanish (for students from non-Spanish-speaking countries).
Method of payment: Once the application form has been received by the University, the necessary information to make payment will be sent.
Deadline for Applications: Before May 20
The price of the course (not including accommodation) is 1105 Euros

Lodging:
The Oficina de Información y Acogida offers students an optional accommodation service with different types of lodging:
- With a family, "home-stay" (4 weeks) with full board, three meals per day: 850 Euros
- With a family, "home-stay" (4 weeks), with half-board : 730 Euros
- In an "aparthotel", an apartment with hotel services (4 weeks, double occupancy): 571,50 Euros/person
